69	Apricots.	Informal.	Contained Sulphur dioxide, 4,300 parts per million.	Dried apricots should not contain more than 2,000 parts per million of sulphur dioxide. Test in connection with treatment of large consignment. Treatment not proceeded with.
116	Sausage Rolls.	Informal.	Unsound.	The rolls had a musty taste and contained some small growths of fungus. Consignment removed from sale.
108	Milk.	Informal.	Contained Fat 3.39%; Solidsnot-fat 8.39%; corresponding to the presence of 1 % of added water.	Seasonal deficiency,
2	Non-alcoholic Ginger-wine	Informal,	Contained Benzoic acid, 740 parts per million.	Non-alcoholic wines should not contain more than 600 parts per million of benzoic acid. Taken up with manufacturers. Old stock intended for export. Withdrawn from sale.
224	Buttered Rolls.	Informal.	Rolls, 94.5% spread, consisting of half butter and half margarine 5.5%.	Warned Vendor. Subsequent sample satisfactory.
222	Walnut Cake Mixture. Fully sweetened.	Informal.	Consisted of chocolate cake mixture with no walnuts.	Wrote to manufacturers.
135	Orange Squash	Informal.	Contained sulphur dioxide 450 parts per million.	Orange Squash should not contain more than 350 parts per million of sulphur dioxide. Wrote to manufacturers.
226	Semolina.	Informal.	Contaminated by insects.	Three small dead larvae and one live one were found in this sample. Their characters were similar to those of the bacon beetle, Dermestes lardarius. No further stock.
316	Aspirin Tablets.	Informal	Contained Salicylic acid, 1.5 per cent.	The proportion of salicylic acid was excessive being ten times the maximum permitted. Withdrawn from sale.
264	Butter.	Informal,	Damaged butter.	Condemned remainder. The butter was discoloured by a number of black marks, which were found to be due to growths of fungus.
236	Dried Fruit Salad.	Informal,	Deteriorated.	Condemned remainder. The dried fruit was dirty and contaminated by mites.
