At the end of the year 138 flats were in an advanced state of construction by the Borough Council on the undermentioned sites:—

(The 90 flats at Erlanger Road and Idonia Street were completed and
occupied during the first quarter of 1950.)
On other sites earmarked for housing by the Borough Council tenders
had been submitted to the London County Council for approval in respect
of Breakspears Road, Erlanger Road (West), and New Cross Road.
In the maintenance of existing houses the following is a summary of the
