The deaths of 866 residents of Battersea aged 65 years and
upwards were registered during 1955. These 866 deaths constituted
67.0 per cent. of the total deaths at all ages.
The natural increase of population (that is, excess of births over
deaths) was 448 in 1955 as compared with 587 in 1954.
The causes of the 1,292 deaths in 1955 classified in various age
groups, are shown in the following table.
