Housing Repairs and Rents Act, 1954.
The above Act was passed on the 30th July, 1954, and came into
operation on the 30th August.
The Act is in two main parts:
Part I, which deals with slum clearance, deferred demolition and
improvements, etc.
Part II, which deals with increases of rent ("repairs increases")
and other matters related to controlled dwellings.
The inspection of houses for the purpose of slum clearance and
preparation for representation is in hand, and during the year one area,
relating to 19 houses, was represented.
