Infant Mortality.
During 1954 the deaths of 33 infants under 1 year of age were
registered as belonging to Battersea. The total number of live births
resistered during the year was 1,738 giving an infant mortality rate of
18.99 per 1,000 live births as compared with 18.56 in 1953 and 17.56
in 1952.
The infant mortality rate in England and Wales during 1954
was 25.5.
