Milk.
100 formal samples of milk were taken during the year.
Of the 100 samples, 17 were designated as "Channel Islands" or
"South Devon" milk, for which a higher minimum percentage (viz.,
4 Per cent.) of milk fat content is provided for under arrangements made
between the producers and the Ministry of Food. 16 of these samples
were reported to be in conformity with this standard, their average
imposition being:—
Milk fat 4.32 per cent.
Non-fatty solids 9.09
Total milk solids 13.41
The remaining sample was reported to be deficient in milk fat
to the extent of 3 per cent. The facts of this case were reported to the
Ministry of Food as soon as the result of the analysis was known.
