Infant Mortality.
During 1952 the deaths of 31 infants under 1 year of age were
registered as belonging to Battersea. The total number of live births
registered during the year was 1,765 giving an infant mortality rate
of 17.56 per 1,000 live births as compared with 27.57 in 1951 and
26.86 in 1950.
The infant mortality rates in the County of London and in England
and Wales during 1952 were 23.8 and 27.6, respectively.
