Infant Mortality.
During 1950 the deaths of 51 infants under 1 year of age were
registered as belonging to Battersea. The total number of live births
registered during the year was 1,899, giving an infant mortality rate
of 26.86 per 1,000 live births as compared with 25.21 in 1949 and
31.58 in 1948.
The infant mortality rates in the County of London and in
England and Wales during 1950 were 26.3 and 29.8 respectively.
