Infant Mortality.
During 1948 the deaths of 71 infants under 1 year of age were
registered as belonging to Battersea. The-total number of live births
registered during the year was 2,248, giving an infant mortality rate
of 31.58 per 1,000 live births as compared with 31.54 in 1947 and
42.42 in 1946.
The infant mortality rates in the County of London and in England
and Wales during 1948 were 31 and 34 respectively.
