One interesting departure this year has been the adoption of
iron treatment in suitable cases, following the report of the Ministry
of Health on Anæmia and Infant Nutrition. Encouraging results
have been obtained.
40 new cases were sent to massage.
66 cases were referred to hospital.
Several children were sent away for convalescent treatment
through the Invalid Children's Aid Association, and holidays were
obtained for a number of mothers and children, through the kind
help of the Women's Holiday Fund, with much benefit to health.
Infant Care Lectures are given on Thursday afternoons, and a
sewing class is also held on the same afternoon, and both are well
attended.
The Fathers' Club meets once a month, and there is a monthly
Mothers' Social. An annual Concert is held, at which prizes are
given for specimens of handicraft for the fathers and sewing for
the mothers.
In addition to infant welfare visiting the Health Visitors
have paid 142 ante-natal visits; 883 visits to cases of notifiable
infectious diseases, and 568 visits in respect of grants of milk in
necessitous cases.
In addition to the Ante-Natal work carried out under the
Maternity and Child Welfare Scheme of the Council a considerable
amount of visiting and reporting of cases is done by the Council's
Health Visiting Staff for the Obstetric and Gynæcological Departments
of several of the larger Hospitals in connection with Battersea
patients attending these institutions.

The following is a summarised statement showing the Hospitals and the visiting and reporting work carried out for them during 1932.
