It is satisfactory to record that the efforts to secure protection
against infection of other members of the family have met with
considerable success, e.g., separate room or bed was found to be in
use in 45.3 per cent, of the cases; and 50 new patients consented
during the year to avail themselves of institutional treatment.
Adult Male Patients.
There were 281 adult male patients not on the Dispensary roll
on the register at the end of 1928. There were 73 new cases notified
during 1928, and of these 15 died during the year.
The following table gives particulars of the non-dispensary new cases notified in 1928:—

The homes of all these patients were systematically visited
during the year by the District Sanitary Inspectors, and 429 visits,
including 73 first visits to new cases were paid. Six of the new
cases notified were found to have died on the first visit. Of the
new cases 34 received institutional treatment and 30 were transferred
to the Dispensary.
Public Health (Prevention of Tuberculosis) Regulations, 1925.
It was not found necessary to take any action during the
year under report in regard to the provisions of these Regulations.
