MATERNAL MORTALITY.
During the year no deaths were primarily classilied as due directly
to complications of pregnancy or childbirth.
In the case of every maternal death the circumstances are fully
investigated by the Medical Officer of Health, the findings being reported
to the Ministry of Health.
Illegitimate Deaths.—The following Table No. 18 shows the number of deaths among illegitimate infants during the past three years.
