"guidance of meat inspectors, prescribing the degree of tubercular
"disease which, in the opinion of the Board, should cause a
"carcase, or part thereof, to be seized.
"Pending the issue of such instructions we are of opinion
"that the following principles should be observed in the inspection
"of tuberculous carcases of cattle:—
"(a) When there is miliary tuberculosis of
"both lungs
"(b) When tuberculous lesions are present
"on the pleura and peritoneum The entire carcase
and all the
"(c) When tuberculous lesions are present , ,

"(d) When tuberculous lesions exist in any
"part of an emaciated carcase

"In view of the greater tendency to generalisation of tuber"culosis
in the pig, we consider that the presence of tubercular
"deposit in any degree should involve seizure of the whole
"carcase and of the organs.
"In respect of foreign dead meat, seizure shall ensue in every
case where the pleura have been 'stripped."
The Board do not consider it necessary, at present, that anything
should be added to these Instructions, or that they should be modified
