SUNLIGHT TREATMENT (Tuberculosis Section).
A full description of the installation was given on page 66
of last year's Report. It only remains to add that following a
series of tests with the Carbon Tetrachloride Actinometer the
pure carbons hitherto used are being gradually replaced by
Tungsten-cored Carbons which have been found to give a flame
much richer in ultra-violet rays. Also as far as possible to aid
reflection the walls of the Treatment Room have been white
enamelled, and to try and improve the atmosphere of the room
an Ozoniser was installed in December, and so far seems to
answer its purpose.
At the close of 1925 there were 78 patients under treatment.
During the year 74 new cases were sent from the Dispensary.
The total treated during 1926 therefore amounted to 152.
Discharges numbered 92, leaving 60 under treatment at the close
of the year.
