The percentage of patients recommended on account of
'nervous disorders' rose from 18% in 1961 to over 21%
last year. The bronchitis and asthma cases numbered
about the same, but in recent years there has been a
marked fall in the number of tuberculosis patients applying
for rehousing; last year they represented less than 6%
of the total medical cases. There were 73 recommendations
for ground floor accommodation.
Alternative accommodation was provided during the
year for 93 families whose applications had been
recommended for priority on medical grounds.
