As in previous years the majority of tuberculosis patients
had already received institutional treatment in the past and
ultra-violet light treatment was given with the object of maintaining
the improvement achieved at sanatorium.
There has been an increase in the number of pulmonary cases
compared with last year, and most of these patients showed
evidence of lowered resistance and of poor general nutrition. The
majority of these improved with treatment, and similar improvement
was also noted in the bone and joint cases and to a marked
degree in the glandular type of disease. Five cases of lupus were
discharged during the year and in every one the result was good.
The Solarium is of great value to the Tuberculosis Officers.
