The Finsbury deaths were apportioned as follows:—Clerkenwell
682, St Luke's 355, St. Sepulchre 18 deaths. The comparison

Inquests.—During the past year 117 inquests were held in the
Borough of which 6 were on the bodies of non-residents who died
suddenly in the district. Twenty-three were on children under
5 years of age, and 94 on adults and children over 5 years of age.
Amongst the causes of death were the following:—
Accidental burns 5, accidental falls 12, accidental suffocation
by food in the windpipe 1, accidental scalds 2, drowning 3, overlying
2, run over by horse and van 1, run over by motor vehicle 11,
suicide 14, accidentally caught in engine shafting 1.
