Guard, or in a locked-up van, until arrival at the receiving station, where the
milk is met by the Consignees, and they have no reason to believe the milk is
tampered with whilst on the premises.
The Metropolitan Railway Company replied on the 18th January, 1898, explaining
that the Company imposes no rule as to the form or method of fastening
milk churns conveyed over this Railway, the Owner acting entirely in his discretion
in the matter, and this answers question No. 1, on which Nos. 2 and 3 are dependent.
