Under Section 3 of the Canal Boats Acts, this Council as a
Sanitary Authority is required each year to make a report to the
Local Government Board as to the execution of the Canal Boats Acts,
and the steps taken to enforce the provisions of the same.
Sale of Food and Drugs Acts.
The total number of samples purchased during the year and
examined by the Public Analyst was 411.

The following is a list of the articles purchased, with the results of the analyses.

Proceedings were taken in 30 cases for adulteration or other
offences, the fines and costs inflicted amounting to £8 2s. 6d.
Unsound Food.

The following quantities of food were, upon examination by officers of the Public Health Department, found to be unsound, unwholesome, and unfit for the food of man, and were destroyed:—
