A summary of the cases heard at the Police Court follows this.
Happily only a very small proportion of the matters dealt with by the
Department lead to summonses. The bulk of the nuisances and defects
coming to the knowledge of the Department are remedied after service
of a written intimation.
The fines and costs imposed last year amounted to £50 6s. 0d.,
and the amounts during the past four years are shown below.
