DEATHS,
Deaths of members of His Majesty's Forces are
not included in the following figures.
The number of deaths of civilians that were registered
during the year as having taken place in the
Borough was 1517.
Of these, 366 were of persons whose residence was
not in Bethnal Green, 353 dying in Bethnal Green
institutions and 13 in other places in the Borough.
There were also reported to the Registrar-General
395 deaths of Bethnal Green persons who died in institutions
in other parts of London, and 17 who died in
other parts of England and Wales.
This correction gives the net number of civil
deaths for Bethnal Green as 1,563, making an annual
death rate of 14·20 per 1,000 of civil population.
