Tuberculosis Dispensaries.—The staff at the dispensaries in 1919 consisted of
a tuberculosis officer and nurse at the St. Pancras Dispensary (including
its Maiden Road branch) which serves the part of the borough lying
north of Euston Road (wards 1 to 6), and a part-time tuberculosis officer and
full-time nurse at the dispensary at University College Hospital which serves
the part lying south of Euston Road (wards 7 and 8) together with the
Borough of Holborn. The expenses of the dispensaries are re-imbursed sed by
the Borough Council and through them by the Ministry of Health, the
London County Council and the London Insurance Committee. During 1919
the work at St. Pancras Dispensary continued to be performed by a temporary
tuberculosis officer who also had certain other duties at the dispensary. At
the end of the year a full-time tuberculosis officer was appointed directly
by the Borough Council for the position.
The work done at the dispensaries in 1919 is shown in the following table:—
