‡Of the 386 samples of milk, 65 samples were procured on Sundays
from itinerant vendors and 182 from itinerant vendors on weekdays.
Three Sunday samples were not in accordance with the standard and
legal proceedings were instituted. Three week-day samples were not genuine,
legal proceedings were instituted in one case, one vendor was cautioned.
Samples were taken on delivery, viz., 9 Poplar Union Workhouse, 6 Sick
Asylum, 21 at Railway Stations, and 1 at a L.C.C. School. All the
samples were genuine except 1 taken at the Workhouse and 3 taken at
Railway Stations. The farmers in the latter cases were cautioned. The
Guardians were communicated with in regard to the sample procured at
the Workhouse.
Results of Analyses.
Legal proceedings were instituted in 11 cases and letters of caution
were sent in seven instances. (See below).
