Notes to Table iii.
(a) All "Transferable Deaths" of residents, i.e., of persons resident in the
District who have died outside it, are included, with the other deaths
in columns 2-10. Transferable deaths of non-residents, i.e., of
persons resident elsewhere in England and Wales who have died
in the District, are in like manner excluded from these columns. For
the precise meaning of the term "transferable deaths" see footnote
to Table I.
The total deaths in column 2 of Table III. equal the figures for the
year in column 12 of Table I.

within the district, whether of residents or non-residents, are entered
in the last column of Table III.

(h) Under this heading are included deaths from Delirium tremens, acute
and chronic alcoholism, etc., but not those certified as due to organic
