Section B.
SANITARY CIRCUMSTANCES OP
THE BOROUGH.
Scavenging.
During 1919 great and growing difficulty has been experienced
by the Works Committee in disposing of the house refuse. For some
years now, the whole of our refuse has been disposed of at shoots, and
these at present seem impossible to obtain. The matter has received
full and earnest consideration by the Works Committee and Council
during the year, and a plan for crushing has been agreed to. For this
purpose a site has been secured and tenders for the erection of the
necessary plant obtained. The matter is being pushed on with all
possible dispatch.
