Sex and Age.—The notified cases, classified according to sex and age are given below:—

Length of residence.—The duration of residence in the Borough and of residence at the notified address were ascertained in many cases, with the following results:—

Fifty-six per cent. of the patients had lived less than one year
at the addresses given when they were notified.
Place of Birth,—This was ascertained in 317 cases as
follows: Fins bury, 123; other parts of London, 144; England
and Wales, 23; Scotland, 2; Ireland, 7; foreign countries, chiefly
Italy and Germany, 18 cases. Eighty-four per cent. were Londoners
by birth; 38 per cent. were born in Finsbury.

Duration of the Disease.—The presumed duration of the disease when the case was first notified is given in the attached table, which records the results in 322 patients.
