Illegitimate Births.
Of the total 1,164 births, 76 or 65.2 per 1,000 were those of
illegitimate children. 46 of these were born outside the Borough,
chiefly in Lying-in Institutions.

DEATHS.
The death rate, calculated upon the total number of deaths
(whether resident or non-resident persons) registered in the Borough
during the year, was 12.6 per 1,000 of the population, but after
subtracting those of non-resident persons dying in the Borough and
adding the deaths of Hampstead residents who died outside the District
the recorded death-rate is found to be 10.5 per 1,000 of the population.
