DEATHS.
The "recorded" death rate is the rate obtained by calculating the
number of "nett" deaths per 1000 of the population. From the total
deaths of civilians registered is deducted the number who were nonresident
persons, and, after subtracting these, the number of deaths of
civilian Hampstead residents who died outside the Borough is added.
The total nett deaths during 1920 was 860, or 9.4 per 1000 of the
population, as compared with 11.8 in the preceding year.
The following are the death-rates per 1000 of the population for
each of the Wards, the Borough, London, and England and Wales:—
No. 1 (Town) Ward 9.7
No. 2 (Belsize) „ 9.1
No. 3 (Adelaide) „ 10.0
No. 4 (Central) „ 8.5
No. 5 (West End) „ 8.7
No. 6 (Kilburn) „ 10.9
No. 7 (Priory) „ 8.3
The Borough 9.4
London 12.4
England and Wales 12.4
