Sale of Food and Drugs Act.
508 samples were taken for analysis during the year. The
number certified to be adulterated was 13, or 2.5 per cent, of the total
number, as against 13 in 1917 and 2.1 in 1916. 5 samples were
certified to be of low quality.
482 samples were purchased from Hampstead tradesmen and 26
from tradesmen coming from other districts. The percentage of
adulterated samples in the two classes was 2.2 and 7.6 respectively.
21 samples were taken on Sundays. 3 of these were adulterated
and two were of low quality.
