can be found by referring to the general index. The table on
pages 96-103, setting out the number of inspections made is not
intended as a description of " Sanitary Inspection " as the mere

I must take this opportunity of expressing my gratitude to
Dr. Fletcher for the kind assistance given to me on the occasion of
my taking over the duties of my appointment. Dr. Fletcher,
owing to the death of the late Medical Officer of Health—Dr. KingWarry—was
appointed Acting Medical Officer of Health, and
carried out those duties so admirably as to earn the special thanks
of the Committee and the Council for the services rendered by him
to the Borough at a time of special stress and difficulty. My
thanks are also due to the Public Health and Maternity and
Child Welfare Committees for their kind support, and to the members
of my staff for the manner in which their duties have been
performed.
I am,
Yours obediently,
G. H. Dart,
Medical Officer of Health.
