Population and Density.
Area=3,287 acres
Population—Census, 1901 = 219,780

The population of the Borough at the middle of the year
1920 is estimated by the Registrar-General to number:—
For death-rate 225,372
For birth-rate 225,542
This gives a density of population for the whole Borough of
68.5 persons per acre, varying from 51.2 persons per acre in the
Northern Sub-district to 98.4 persons per acre in the South-western
Sub-district. The following table gives the estimated population
and density of population per acre for each of the Registration
Sub-districts in the Borough :—
