There were 299 deaths of Civil "Residents" in various Workhouses,
Infirmaries, Asylums, Hospitals, etc., outside the Borough, 55 of whom were
removed from Common Lodging Houses in the Borough.
The deaths are further corrected by the Registrar-General by the inclusion of
all deaths registered in the calendar year as distinct from the registration year of
52 weeks. This correction, together with deaths, transferred from extra
Metropolitan Institutions, accounts for the variation in the number of deaths
given in the four quarterly reports of the Registrar-General and in his Annual
Report. The final correction supplied by the Registrar-General for 1923 gives
the total deaths for the Borough as 526.

Corrected Deaths and Death-Rates, 1923, compared with 1922.
