" Infectious Disease.—Infectious disease occurred in 10 premises where home work was carried
on. In no instance was it found necessary to make an Order under Section 109 to stop the work,
nor to prosecute under Sections 109-110 as the infected persons were immediately removed to
hospital, and disinfection carried out. In no case had there been any contact with the work
carried on.
" Failure to send Lists.—It is still necessary to remind the majority of employers
of their duty to send in twice a year the names and addresses of the outworkers to whom work is
given out. During the year 119 notices of failure in this respect were sent, but since in reply to
the notices, the necessary lists of outworkers were in every case promptly forwarded, no legal proceedings
were instituted.
" In conclusion, we gladly testify to the almost invariable willingness of Employers to conform
to the requirements of the law when attention is called to any default, and to the courtesy
with which our visits and suggestions are received."
The appended table summarises the work of the year, so far as it is capable of being expressed in this form.
