The "Infantile Mortality"—i.e., the number of deaths under one
year per 1000 births—was 82, as compared with the rate of 60 per 1000
births in 1910, this figure being calculated on the total number of births
belonging to Hampstead, including those that occurred in lying-in
institutions outside Hampstead. The average rate for the years 19061910
was 70.
