MARRIAGES. According to the returns of the Registrar-General, 690 marriages were registered in the Borough during 1911 ; they were distributed in the four quarters of the year as follows: —

The total number of persons married in Hampstead during 1911
was 1392, which is equivalent to a rate of 16*3 per 1000 of the
population, and is an increase on that for the year 1910, when the
marriages of 1262 persons were registered, equivalent to a rate of 14"8
per 1000 of the population.
