In comparison with the returns for 1912, the following matters
are of interest:—
The birth rate is still diminishing.
The number of births is less—the number is lower than it
has ever been since the Borough was incorporated.
The death rate is lowered.
The death rate from Phthisis is still further reduced.
The deaths from Diarrhoea and Enteritis are much inccreased.
The deaths from Diphtheria and Measles are less.
The Infant Mortality is increased.
Scarlet Fever and Enteric Fever have been more prevalent;
Diphtheria less prevalent.
