Expenses of carrying out the Food and Drugs Act.
The total expenses connected with the carrying out of the
Food and Drugs Acts in Lambeth Borough during 1909
amounted to £,77 1s. 4d., and' are made up as follow: —
£28 8s. 3d. for samples, £22 10s. Od. for assistant, £4 13s.
for witnesses, ,£16 12s. l1d. for travelling expenses (including
£6 17s. 6d. for cabs) and £4 17s. 2d. for sundries.
The salary of the Food and Drugs Inspector (£.120, rising
by £,10 annual increases to £200), and the costs of the
summonses (£9), are not included.
For comparison, the total expenses during the past few years are tabulated as follows:—
