At the beginning of 1909 the number of workshops on the
register was 510. During the year the occupation of 64 of these
premises was discontinued, while on the other hand 84 new
workshops were added to the register, so that at the end of 1909
the total of these premises was 530, in which were employed
2,045 persons (1,005 males, and 1,040 females).
