Smoke Nuisances.— During 1910 the Smoke Inspector made
1,145 observations of chimneys of factories, workshops and other
places in the Borough. These observations lasted from half an
hour upwards. The intimation notices served in connection with
this nuisance numbered 37.
Water Supply.— Under Section 48 (2) of the Public Health
(London) Act, 1891, there were 49 certificates of proper and sufficient
water supply issued to owners of new or rebuilt dwellinghouses
in the Borough. These 49 certificates refer to 168 houses
and tenements.
By-laws for Houses Let in Lodgings.— During the past year
the whole of the occupied houses in the Borough registered under
the above by-laws were inspected. The following sets out in detail
the results of the inspections made, &c.:—
