Column (2) in the above table gives the number of defects found,
and column (3) the number remedied during the year. The corresponding
figures in the two columns are not identical, because in the case
of some of the defects discovered near the end of the year, the work
necessary to remedy the defects had not been been completed, and
column (3) includes some defects which were found at the end of 1908,
and remedied in the following year.
