HOUSING, TOWN PLANNING, &c., ACT, 1909.
In September last the Local Government Board issued
regulations under section 17 (1) of the Housing, Town
Planning, &c., Act, 1909, for enforcing the systematic inspection
of dwelling-houses.
The Medical Officer of Health is required to report upon
the particular dwelling-houses which in his opinion require
inspection. Records of all inspections made are to be kept,
which must contain information as to:—
(a) The arrangements for preventing the contamination of
the water supply.
(b) Closet accommodation.
(c) Drainage.
(d) The conditions of the dwelling-houses in regard to
light, (he free circulation of air, dampness and cleanliness.
(e) The paving, drainage and sanitary condition of any
yard or outhouse belonging to the premises.
(f) The arrangements for the deposit of refuse and ashes.
(g) The existence of any room which would, in pursuance
of section 17 (7), be a dwelling-house so dangerous
or injurious to health as to be unfit for human habitation.
(h) Any defect in other matters which may tend to render
the dwelling-house dangerous or injurious to the
health of an inhabitant.
