Deaths of Children under Five Years of Age.
Between the ages of one and five years 208 deaths were
recorded, so that the deaths of children under the age of five
years numbered 670, or 35.1 per cent, of the deaths at all
ages. The number corresponds to a death-rate of 32.7 per
1,000 of the children estimated to be living at that age, which
is the lowest yet recorded in Fulham.
Insurance of Infants.
Certificates under the Friendly Societies Act, 1896, were
issued in respect of 319 children under five, 47.6 per cent, of
the children dying at that age period being insured.
Mortality at School Age.
At the ages of five to fifteen years, which is approximately
the school period of life, there were sixty-five deaths, or 3.5
per cent, of the total number, representing a mortality of
2.0 per 1,000 of those living at that age.
Mortality at Adolescence.
Between the ages of fifteen and twenty-five years, fiftyeight,
or 3.0 per cent, of the total deaths, were recorded, the
rate at this age period being 2.1 per 1,000.
Mortality at Maturity.
684, or 35.8 per cent, of all the deaths, occurred between
the ages of twenty-five and sixty-five years, the mortality
being at the rate of 9.5 per 1,000.
Mortality at Decline.
At the age of sixty-five and upwards there were 431 deaths,
or 22.6 per cent. of those at all ages, equal to a death-rate
of 83.2 per 1,000.
