Refuse is now removed twice a week from flats as the
storage facilities in these dwellings are very limited and a
week's accumulation causes considerable nuisance.
Proceedings were taken against the occupier of a stable
near New King's Road for failing to comply with the Council's
notice to remove the manure, and a penalty of £3 with 2s.
costs was imposed.
GENERAL SANITARY WORK.
Nine hundred and one complaints were received and dealt
with by the Inspectors, and 1,867 intimation and 351 statutory
notices were served.
In three instances proceedings were instituted for failing
to comply with the Council's notice, but the summonses were
withdrawn on the payment of the costs, the works necessary
to abate the nuisances having been completed before the date
of hearing.
