The following notice of defects was received from H.M. Inspector of Factories during 1908. Notice was served on the person responsible, and the defects remedied:—

Bakehouses are either factories or workshops within the meaning
of the Act, according as mechanical power is or is not used
in aid of the processes carried on. They are, therefore, subject to
the provisions of the Act, and although in the main the factory
bakehouses in the Borough are supervised by the Factory Inspectors,
by far the greater part of the work connected with the
