Workshops.
Workshops include any premises (not being factories) in which
manual labour is exercised by way of trade, or for purposes of
gain in, or incidental to, the making, altering, repairing, finishing
or adapting for sale of any article, and to or over which the
employer of the persons working there has the right of access or
control.
The workshops in Battersea arc under the supervision of the
two Workshop Inspectors—one male and one female inspector.
The former deals with workshops where men only are employed;
the latter with workshops where female labour is utilised. Workshops
where both male and female labour is employed are supervised
by both inspectors.
