In 1902 a system of voluntary notification of Phthisis came into
operation in Hampstead. The following table gives the number of
patients notified in each year since 1902:—

One of the notification certificates received during 1908 related
to a patient who had already been notified; the number of new
patients notified was, therefore, 29, and of these 14 were males and
15 females. The notifications received were from the following
