Clothing, Bedding, etc.—There were 19,136 large articles, besides
innumerable small articles which were not counted, disinfected at the Steam
Disinfection Station, Seven Sisters Road. The two steam disinfectors, which
are of the Goddard, Massey & Warner type, worked most admirably, and gave
complete satisfaction, discharging their work to perfection, and causing no
destruction to clothing or bedding.

The following is a record of the work performed by these disinfectors:—

The machines have never yet been worked to their fullest extent, for the
occasion has never arisen. Should it however come, it is satisfactory to know
that they are capable of performing very much more work than they are now
required to do.
There has never been a breakdown, which is mainly due to the fact that
the machines are worked in alternate weeks, and in that way they are always
kept in a good condition.

The following statement gives a summary of the chief articles disinfected during the year as well as in 1899:-
