The age and sex incidence and mortality for the 744 Scarlet Fever cases notified in Lambeth Borough during 1903 are as follow :—

It will be noted that, of the total 744 persons reported as
suffering from Scarlet Fever during 1903 within the Borough of
Lambeth, 236 (i.e., 31.7 per cent.) were under five years of age,
and 532 (i.e., 71.5 per cent.) under 10 years of ages: whilst the
mortality was greatest amongst those between the ages 1 to 5
years (viz., 69.6 per cent.). Of the 212 persons over 10 years of
age, 1 (i.e., 0.5 per cent.) died.
