and 7s. 10½d. per ton on the Southern Division. This will give the

Distributing this sum over the whole of the population of the
borough, the cost equals a little over 1s. 3½d. per head per annum ;
or taking the occupied houses in the district at 31,000 the cost equals
a little over 9s. 5½d. per occupied house per annum.
