BIRTHS.
The total number of births registered in the Borough during the
year is 4,589, against 4,608 in 1901, a decrease of 19. The excess of
the births over the deaths is 1,842, this should represent the natural
increase of our population, but immigration is constantly going on,
and, notwithstanding the foreign influx, our numbers are not increasing
at anything like this rate.
Table " B " compares the births, deaths, and estimates of population
of the two years 1901 and 1902.
